If we care about pleasing our Heavenly Father we need to understand those things that bring Him the greatest joy.
The Father’s Good Pleasure (2 Message Set)
1. The Father’s Good Pleasure (Part 1)
What is it that gives the Father ultimate pleasure? In this message, the first of a two part series, Phil explores the Scriptures to draw out the qualities that bring supreme pleasure to the Father. Jesus lived exclusively for the pleasure of the Father. (John 8:29) The Father found His supreme delight in the Son. If we care about pleasing our Heavenly Father we need to understand those things that bring Him the greatest joy. As it turns out, we find our supreme joy in the things that bring the Father supreme joy!
2. The Father’s Good Pleasure (Part 2)
As Phil continues this series he focuses upon a single Greek word; ‘eudokia’ which means ‘supreme pleasure’ or ‘ultimate joy’ and he traces this word through the New Testament. “Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure [eudokia] to give you the kingdom.” (Luke 12:32) Phil outlines three transitions that deepen the Father’s pleasure as we move from seeing the kingdom to receiving the kingdom to doing the works of the kingdom. The deepest expression of joy comes as we enter into the deepest level of participation with Jesus in doing the work of the Kingdom and seeing the supernatural explode upon a godless world.
